OUR BREWING PROCESS

The brewing process behind any beer is as unique as the beer itself. From the ingredients we use to how long we ferment it, we make each choice at Two Frays Brewery in the interest of creating the best craft beer Pittsburgh, PA locals have tasted. We start our brewing process for craft beer in Pittsburgh, PA by designing each recipe from scratch. In each of these recipes, we only use the best and freshest ingredients possible. This includes the water we use, which is the first ingredient of any kind of brewed beverage and gives the drink its base. We “make” water for each batch of beer from filtered and reverse osmosis water. We then add minerals and salts to the batch, depending on the beverage style.

At Two Frays Brewery, we also use English house yeast in most of our recipes. This means that we have a longer fermentation to make the craft beers Pittsburgh, PA loves - but it pays off. Our beers fermented with English house yeast have a smoother taste, more flavor, and a better aroma. These three qualities ensure that all of your senses are engaged when you drink our beer.
