She’s currently working on a book about Betty Davis, a feminist funk pioneer from Pittsburgh. Danielle also teaches World Music at the University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University.⁠ ⁠ Come learn about the life & music of 1970’s feminist funk pioneer and Pittsburgh native, Betty Davis!

In 2022, we brewed our first non-alcoholic beer, which furthered our mission of having "something for everyone".⁠ ⁠ When some of our customers asked us if we'd ever brew a non-alchoholic beer we didn't ask why or scoff and say no - instead we said "maybe" and gave it a shot. ⁠ ⁠ And thus, Pittsburgh's Original Non-Alchoholic Beer was born! We're so proud to always have at least a few non-alc brews on the menu and to host our monthly Mod Mondays. Today we're spotlighting our Black + Blue NA Sour beer that we brewed in collaboration with @pghbabesonbikes! ⁠ ⁠ This beer was very popular on wintery Sundays after the Frigid Bitch training rides, but it's still on tap and available for you to enjoy! ⁠ ⁠ Brewed with pale malt and wheat, then conditioned on blueberry and black currant purée, this <0.5% ABV beer is packed with flavor. Think wheat bread, tart blueberries, and rich black currant jam, all in a smooth, refreshing pour.

Jen's Porter is BACK!⁠ ⁠ It all started when Jen wanted to drink a porter year-round. She noticed that in the summer, breweries typically only had one dark beer on tap—a bourbon barrel-aged stout with a really high ABV.⁠ ⁠ Jen wanted a flavorful, dark beer with a lower ABV—something approachable, not heavy or boozy. Have you tried our Queer Beer yet? It's amazing. And it's also $6 a pint right now. ⁠ ⁠ We collaborated with @5801videolounge to brew this New England Hazy India Pale Ale. You'll taste flavors of mango, pineapple, and tropical fruit, a hint of dried blueberries and citrus on a soft, bready malt base.⁠ ⁠ All of our beer is queer but this one’s the queerest 😎🌈 ⁠ ⁠ We have one more day of decent temps here in Pittsburgh before we all freeze our buns off next week - make the most of it and stop in the taproom!

Our Wholesale Manager, Jesse, came to us with a fantastic idea - “let’s put a pickle spear in a beer and serve it”. Why did he suggest this? He’s from Missouri, where it’s a very normal thing to order a Stag beer with a pickle. So, now YOU can order a beer with a pickle in it! We recommend trying it with a Kölsch (both NA Kölsch and regular Kölsch do the trick) but you do you. It more than just “doesn’t suck”, as Lauren put it, it’s actually really good! Come in and give it a try 🥒🍺

Vania Evangelique is a multidisciplinary artist that centers her work in photography, painting, poetry, and all the visual exploration in between. Her work centers around the preservation of memory and moments, finding joy in the now and the appreciation of the journey into what’s next. Her work has been exhibited at galleries like Brewhouse Arts, Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Assemble, Irma Freeman Gallery and others. We are grateful to host such a beautiful artist and work.
